Day 92, 91, 90, 89: Asking for a hug!

DAY 92-89

Playing catch up with Days 89-92 of the 100 day challenge…asking the impossible, every day, for the last 100 days of 2014! (see the original challenge link here:

This “asking for what I really really want” is getting harder as the days go by. And I thought it would get easier?!

Over the course of the last four days I’ve accomplished the following:

Day 92: I asked a vendor to kick it up a notch!
I realized that I can be too passive when a vendor screws up a job—too accommodating. This time I rejected the job, asked for it to be fixed and I’m staying on top of the progress. Sometimes I’m empathetic to a fault. Note to self: STOP IT!

Day 91: I asked 7 Going on 17 to help me clean her room.
Often times I just clean it myself to save time and my sanity. This time I asked for her help, she complied willingly (ok, I may be exaggerating slightly), I was patient and we both had a great time together (and the room looks fab)!

Day 90: I asked my husband for a hug.
This isn’t an impossible ask at all, but I realized that sometimes I forget to just ask when I need a hug. I need to do it more often. It helps!

Day 89: I asked a popular mentor/author for advice.
He gave it willingly! Huge gratitude!

Putting some thought into what I really really want every day takes some planning and practice. Who’d a thunk? It’s something I need to incorporate into my morning journaling to get the maximum effect. Spend a little more dedicated time paying attention to my goals and what I can ask for that will get me there.

Not asking for what I really want boils down to fear. Plain and simple! Fear of NO! Funny, it’s just a word. It’s just information. It means nothing more than “not right now” unless I decide to assign it a deeper meaning.

Anything you’re afraid to ask for?
