Day 96: Ask for support!

DAY 96

It’s day 96 of the 100 day challenge…asking the impossible every day for the last 100 days of 2014!
(see the original challenge link here: http://wp.me/p1R1DT-l3)

A mentor and friend, @richlitvin, recently flew back from London on a 10 hour flight. He’d been there visiting his father, who is very ill and hospitalized. The very day he arrived back in the states he received word that his dad was put back in the hospital and it wasn’t looking good. His wife and two small sons were due back from Hawaii that day. He knew he had to see his dad again, no matter what.

With just enough time to re-pack and sleep for ten minutes, he and his family headed back to London the very next day to be with his dad and mum.

I decided I would ask the impossible of all my friends and connections on Facebook. I asked everyone if they could spare 60 seconds out of their Saturday to send positive energy, love, thoughts and prayers to Rich and his family. That felt like so much more than just little old me sending good wishes to Rich on Facebook. The response was beautiful. I hope Rich, Monique and their family felt the love all the way across the Atlantic.

Asking for something each day has made me realize just how independent I am. How afraid I am to ask for things—sometimes the things I really want the most. The story I tell myself around “looking needy” or “looking weak”. Suffice it to say, I’ve been feeding myself a bullshit sandwich. Blah! Doesn’t taste good!

Here’s to asking for what you really really want. Fearlessly!

What could you ask for today? You never know, you just might get it!
